Samantha's Story | Touching Lives | The Whole Story

Practice Stove Safety. Remember to place pot and pan handles facing in toward the center of the stove so kids can't grab them.

Often, when an unthinkable tragedy befalls a family, denial and inaction are the only outcomes. When Katie and Mark Kessler lost their 2-year-old daughter Samantha in a home accident involving vertical blind cords, they decided to make a difference.

Following Samantha's accident, Katie and Mark were unable to find a single organization educating and instructing parents on creating a safe home environment for children.

They also discovered some staggering facts regarding the number of children killed and injured each year due to accidents in their own homes.

In response, Katie, Mark, and their family created The Samantha Foundation as a resource to honor Samantha's memory while helping save the lives of children nationwide.

Today, The Samantha Foundation is working to become the single-source resource for home safety knowledge that parents and caregivers so truly need.
