In 2001, Katie and Mark Kessler experienced firsthand the urgent need for child home safety information. Soon after their daughter Samantha's accident, Katie, Mark and their family established The Samantha Foundation to become that needed resource.

A little over one year later, a Parents magazine article focusing on The Samantha Foundation touched a nationwide audience with their message. The response following the publication of the article was immediate.

From across the country messages of sympathy, requests for more information, offers of volunteerism, and most helpfully, donations came into The Samantha Foundation.

Today, The Samantha Foundation is fully committed to reaching the goal of touching the lives of parents, caregivers, and children everywhere by helping creating child-safe home environments.
